Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is transmitted directly to the third-party company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We neither log nor retain those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message is retained as needed to prepare a response. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive certain technical information when a page loads:
- Page-view dates and timestamps
- Your device's assigned IP address
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- Visited pages and time spent on them
- A referring website, when one exists
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored on a visitor's device. We use them with analytics services to understand aggregate traffic, including popular pages and common exit points. A browser can block cookies at any time, although doing so may change how some features behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating the service and maintaining page performance
- Routing search requests to the selected outside provider
- Measuring which material visitors use
- Diagnosing and correcting technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal-record information. Emanuel County guidance identifies official custodians, including the sheriff, local criminal courts, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Georgia Crime Information Center, and the Georgia Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal records, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies provide the search-box services. Information submitted through one of those tools is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each partner controls its retention and disclosure rules. Review those terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to an Emanuel County office, Georgia agency, court portal, legal-aid organization, or commercial search provider. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy controls. Read that policy before providing personal information.
Some advertising companies may use activity across websites to select targeted advertisements. Their own systems perform that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Search providers processing a query you submit
- Advertising networks serving material on the pages
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards protect the information we collect. No internet-connected system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a person younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary with a visitor's residence. Georgia law, including the Georgia Fair Business Practices Act, O.C.G.A. §§ 10-1-390 through 10-1-407, may provide relevant consumer protections. The Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. §§ 50-18-70 through 50-18-77, governs public records held by government custodians, while criminal-history dissemination is addressed in O.C.G.A. § 35-3-35. At a minimum, you may:
- Request access to information we hold about you
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Seek deletion of your data
- Opt out of certain processing where applicable
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices or legal requirements change. A revised version will appear here with its new effective date.
